Toshiba Aims to Strengthen Digital Product Business in Japan, Worldwide

Toshiba announced that in order to strengthen operating efficiency and performance of its digital product business, including LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV business, the company will launch a series of functional reorganizations, according to a July 12, 2012 press release by Toshiba. It is reported that Toshiba will transfer its LCD TV design and development unit at Fukaya Complex in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, to Ome Complex in western Tokyo, Toshiba's PC and tablet development center, aiming to enhance its TV, PC, and tablet technologies. Furthermore, Toshiba is projected to accelerate the establishment of a worldwide development and production system in a bid to grasp the business opportunities in the emerging markets and to reinforce its LCD TV manufacturing capabilities at facilities located in Indonesia, Egypt and other countries.
